During Christmas, Chelsea, the Medical Assisting Program Director, brought a special guest with her as she visited externship sites in Charleston to deliver a surprise……. Santa was happy to help make the deliveries to our important partners and accompany Chelsea on the journey. West Virginia Junior College students complete externships in local locations relevant to their field of study. Our clinical medical assistants, for example, spend their hours in a hospital or doctor’s office location performing skills, including vital signs, lab analysis, MRI, and phlebotomy, just to name a few. This allows students in the field hands-on training to help better prepare them for their careers.
