WVJC’s Clinical Medical Assistant Program

Our Clinical Medical Assistant program, a comprehensive 18-month associate degree program, is designed to prepare students for various healthcare careers. In those 18 months, students learn a wide range of skills, from taking patient vital signs to drawing blood, giving injections, performing and reading EKGs, and assisting with medical examinations.
In addition to the hands-on training they receive in the classroom, students will complete an externship. During the externship, students can observe and apply the skills they gained in the program in a real-world setting while developing strong connections with industry professionals.
Upon completing the Clinical Medical Assistant program, graduates will earn an associate degree and be prepared to sit for the following National Healthcareer Association (NHA) certification exams:
