Meet Nursing Admissions Team Member Cody Taylor!
Cody Taylor graduated from Moorefield Highschool in 2014 and received his CCMA from Eastern WV Community and Technical College. During high school and a little after graduation, Cody worked as a cavern tour guide for Smoke Hole Resort. He then started his career in healthcare, working as a tech in the ER for the last six years. He worked for trauma centers in Pittsburgh and Virginia.
When asked why he chose to work at West Virginia Junior College, Cody said, “I chose WVJC because they have strong core values and make me feel like I am more than just another number in a corporate corporation. My favorite part about working for WVJC is the people I come into contact with on a daily basis, whether it’s coworkers or students. I enjoy the people I work with and the students I get to meet day in and day out.”
Cody currently works in admissions, where he assists potential students with the transition into the Nursing program at WVJC. The tasks he completes are critical in ensuring students understand the process and successfully become enrolled as nursing students at West Virginia Junior College.
Cody is motivated by marathon training. It is something that is not easy for him, and it requires dedication and mental tenacity to train the way he does. Cody believes that having the strict training program he does is not only good for the race itself, but it carries into your life outside of the marathon. It shows in your work ethic and your dedication to other aspects of your life to be the best that you can be.
When asked about what he is most proud of, “I am most proud of my running career. I was never someone who ran, but over the past three years, it has become something that I am obsessed with. It is something I do every day and has changed the way I see life. It has opened new doors for me, and I can’t wait for the races in my future.”
