Meet Our New Career Management Director

Dillon Bradley e1651264287679 | WVJC

We are pleased to welcome a new staff member, Dillon Bradley, one of the new Career Management Directors at WVJC Morgantown!

Dillon graduated from Fairmont State University in 2019 with a Bachelor’s Degree in National Security and Intelligence and a Bachelor’s Degree in Political Science. He is currently working on his Masters in Public Administration and Policy at American University. He has focused on federal policy throughout his graduate program ranging from federal debt to education.

Dillon interned with the Higher Education Policy Commission during his senior year at Fairmont. His focus was on proposed legislation that impacted higher education throughout the state. He wrote several reports that were sent to the Governor of West Virginia recommending a specific course of action.

After graduating from Fairmont State University, Dillon became the Legislative Director for the university. He drafted numerous pieces of legislation that became a state law in the 2019 and 2020 legislative sessions.

While he may be new to the Career Management team, Dillon is very excited to begin helping students start their careers.

He exclaims, “I have already enjoyed the interactions with students I have had this far. I am thrilled to have the opportunity to help students through college and then make sure they can get a job that they want. West Virginia has an incredibly low college degree attainment rate, and the mission of WVJC is so important.”

Dillon goes on to say, “Not only are our students graduating with a degree, we are making sure that they can get a job to support themselves and their families. Advocating for higher education has always been a passion of mine, and working at WVJC allows me to put that passion to work!”

Dillon will also be teaching a Career Preparation course that prepares students to create documents needed to obtain employment, such as cover letters, resumes, thank you letters, and references. In this course, students also complete a mock interview to assist them in proper interview techniques. “This course is designed to give students as much readiness as possible when they start applying for jobs. They will have better resumes, interview skills, and overall be a better future employee for companies to hire after completing this course.”

Dillon enjoys traveling and adventures in his spare time, spending time with family and friends, reading, cooking, or playing the newest video game. “I think it is important to do as many things as possible during your life. Make it as meaningful as you can and positively impact as many individuals you can reach,” he says.
