Faith Medley graduated from high school and was unsure of her next step in life should be. She knew moving forward, she wanted to push herself and be involved in a supportive community but was not exactly sure where she would find that. In late 2019, her mother started attending WVJC Charleston and was happy with her experience, so in January of 2020, Faith decided to enroll in the Business Administration program.
Faith said, “WVJC Charleston is my first experience with college. I chose the Business Administration program because of the fast-paced nature, and it was located close to where I live.” When asked what her favorite part of attending WVJC, she responded, “I love the staff, students, and sense of community.” Business seemed like an excellent fit because she felt that the skill sets learned in the program were transferrable to many aspects of life, with many career path options.
Faith is very creative, and in her free time, she loves performing on stage. She has been involved in several productions at the Alban Arts Center. She says so far; her favorite course has been her Marketing 101 course because she could express her creativity in her final project, which was a detailed marketing plan for a local business. After graduation, Faith would love to open a daycare, as she loves children and is very interested in the childcare business. When asked about where she sees her life in five years, she responded, “I honestly don’t know where I will be in 5 years, but I hope wherever I am, I am happy.”
