Jeremy Boggess is a graduate of West Virginia Junior College Charleston. He graduated from Clay County High School and went directly into the Marine Corps where he served for six years. He worked as an Intelligence Analyst in San Diego, Afghanistan, and eventually Okinawa, Japan. When Jeremy returned to the US he enrolled at WVJC. He says, “My brother attended before me and had a great experience.”
Jeremy enrolled in the Information Technology program, saying “I’ve always enjoyed being around computers and really wanted to make a career out of it!” When asked what his favorite part of attending WVJC was, his response was the instructors! “All of my instructors were very helpful and really easy to work with. They understood that everyone had a life outside of school and worked to ensure everything would work out. My favorite teach was Mr. Pinkerton (sorry everyone else). I had him for a lot of my classes and we get along really well. Even after graduation, we still keep in regular contact. He is insanely smart and usually has the answer to any IT related question you could think of.
He said his perfect day would include sleeping until noon and having nothing planned or due. He just likes to go with the flow and do things out of the blue. Jeremy tries to eat healthily but can never turn down a McDonalds Mocha Frappe!
Jeremy is now working in the IT department of a law firm in the Charleston area. “Everyone I work for is very polite and it is an amazing place to work! When asked where he sees himself in 5 years he said “I went to school to get my degree. I am content with where I work and live so I haven’t really haven’t put a lot of time into thinking where I want to go next.”
