About West Virginia Junior College

West Virginia Junior College (WVJC) has a rich history of training qualified professionals who meet industry needs. In 1892, the first campus was established in Charleston, West Virginia, and has since expanded by opening campuses in Morgantown and Bridgeport, West Virginia. Then, in 2011, WVJC developed an online platform that allows students in West Virginia and the surrounding states access to career training.

The WVJC Student Experience

WVJC strives to provide each student with an exceptional learning experience by following our established academic process. This process offers students personalized care and attention from everyone they meet from the first time they reach out through graduation.

Students can expect to receive a combination of didactic courses, hands-on lab experiences, clinical rotations, an externship with a regional employer, and certification* or licensure** preparation, regardless of their program of choice. WVJC graduates will complete their schooling and enter the workforce equipped with the knowledge, skills, and experience to be successful in their new careers.

In addition, WVJC students are supported by each employee they meet along the way. The admissions team, academic team, career management department, instructors, and faculty are there to guide them throughout their educational journey. As a benefit of attending WVJC, our career management team will organize a real-world externship and assist with interview preparation, resume assistance, job placement, and more. This gives students the valuable industry experience to feel confident about entering their new careers. Additionally, WVJC alums can return to school to take brush-up courses^ in their field of study to refresh their skills as the industry evolves.
