WVJC Offers Online Nursing Program
West Virginia Junior College is now offering a hybrid, online Nursing program to students in the Beckley and Huntington areas. Beckley area students would be a part of the WVJC School of Nursing at Raleigh General. This platform is ideal for individuals who prefer to complete their nursing education online. Additionally, students have the convenience of our WVJC Charleston location being the home campus delivering the nursing classes. If you have dreamed of becoming a nurse, this could be the program for you!
The program is structured, so students take the didactic components of their nursing classes online. At the same time, they complete their lab and clinical instruction at local hospitals, Raleigh General Hospital for Beckley students, and other medical facilities in the Huntington area.
Students who complete this nursing training program will be conferred an Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) and be eligible to sit for the National Council Licensure Examination for Registered Nurses (NCLEX-RN)*.
Nurses deserve admiration and respect from the communities they serve. They provide patients and their families with healthcare and clinical expertise while offering them emotional comfort and community resource guidance.
*Passing the NCLEX-RN exam is required to become a Registered Nurse.
“WVJC has been an outstanding college! I 100% recommend! Material is challenging but pushes us to learn more. Clinical sites are organized and knowledgeable.” – Nichole Schaffner, WVJC Graduate

Direct Admission Nursing Program
The WVJC School of Nursing at Raleigh General and WVJC School of Nursing in Huntington programs are direct admission programs. This means, once accepted, you’ve been assured a seat in the nursing training program and will not need to complete years of pre-nursing general classes.
WVJC’s direct admission Nursing program precludes students from enduring the wait and stress of taking unnecessary and unrelated classes while waiting to be accepted into the nursing program.
The WVJC School of Nursing at Raleigh General and the WVJC School of Nursing program for those in the Huntington area employs an Assessment Technologies Institute (ATI) adaptive learning system. This helps nursing students absorb the material in the most effective way for each student.
The ATI adaptive learning system can help students achieve better test scores, thus improving their chances of becoming nurses.

RN to BSN through WVJC Online
WVJC Online is excited to offer a 12-month online RN to BSN program through the WVJC School of Nursing, allowing students to earn a Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN). Upon passing the NCLEX-RN exam, RNs can begin their nursing careers while simultaneously earning their BSN. This program is designed for registered nurses (RNs) with an associate degree in nursing (ADN) who want to advance their careers.
WVJC ADN graduates auto-qualify for the BSN Pathway Scholarship* upon being accepted into the program. Students who graduate from WVJC with their ADN and immediately continue to the RN to BSN program could have their BSN in less than three years! This can give students a head start in their careers, save time and money, and allow them to advance their education.
*For those who qualify. See catalog for detailed eligibility requirements.
