Meet our new Dental Assisting Program Director, Jamie Stine!
Jamie Stine graduated from Dental Assisting in 2002 from Ohio Valley College of Technology. After graduation, she immediately began working in a dentist’s office to get experience as a Dental Assistant. In 2015, she returned to school to become an Expanded Function Dental Auxiliary. She worked in the dental field until she began working with East Ohio College in 2009.
Jamie is excited about starting the Online Dental Assisting program here at West Virginia Junior College. She chose to be the program director because, as a West Virginia Junior College system graduate, she loved the training she received. Now she has the opportunity to give that back to new students.
“I love being a part of helping students reach their goals. I love seeing my students walk across the stage at graduation and seeing how proud they are of themselves. I remember that feeling of accomplishment for myself and love being a part of it for my students,” Jamie explained. Her dedication to her students is based on her history with the program and her desire to see her students succeed.
Jamie loves working at WVJC because she holds a high value in training our dental assistants to be the best that they can be. Her interactions with her students are her favorite part of working with WVJC. Because of the smaller classes, it is easier for her to create a personal relationship with her students and ensure they have the tools and resources they need to be successful.
Jamie’s long-term goal is to have the best Dental Assisting program around. Our students graduate with a desire to work, and we ensure they are trained to go straight into the workforce or continue their education. She wants to ensure that all her students have the same amazing experience she had when she was completing the program.
Jamie loves the outdoors. When she is not in the office, she would rather be with her family doing something like camping, fishing, or hunting.
