As a WVJC student, whether online or on campus, you’ll develop strong connections with our staff and be supported by a committed team of professionals who’ll be there every step of your educational journey. These support systems include the admissions team, career management team, academic team, and Campus President. Throughout your education, you will have opportunities to work closely with each of these departments, but in this blog, you will have the chance to get to know the leader of the WVJC Morgantown and Online teams– campus president Samantha Esposito!
A Career of Helping Others
Samantha’s unwavering dedication to providing quality education to students throughout West Virginia and the surrounding states is a testament to her commitment to her position. Her eight years with WVJC have allowed her to become intimately familiar with the WVJC process. In 2020, she took on the role of Campus President, a position she cherishes for the opportunity to work with a diverse range of individuals. “I really enjoy talking to people and learning about them and their backgrounds,” she said. “This position gives me the opportunity to do that.”
For Samantha, guiding students along their academic journey is not just a job but a profoundly fulfilling passion. She shares that graduation and nursing pinning ceremonies are her favorite days of the year. “At those ceremonies, we are able to witness the culmination of hard work and dedication of all of our students,” she said.
She would like any potential students to know that if they are looking for a school that truly cares about them and wants them to succeed, then WVJC is the right organization for them. “I truly care about their success and am always there for them as a listening ear,” Samantha said.
Achieving A Work-Life Balance
Taking a well-deserved break is crucial to avoid burnout and career fatigue. For Samantha, this break typically involves somewhere that offers warm weather. However, if given the opportunity to travel anywhere in the world, her top choice would be Italy, given her Italian heritage and love for its cuisine.
Samantha enjoys simple pleasures that make her feel grounded and connected when not at work. She finds solace in reading, tending to her plants, and caring for her pomeranian. Samantha shares that her favorite book is Flowers In The Attic by Virginia Andrews, a book she read in a high school English class and was the first book she became deeply interested in. One thing you likely don’t know about Samantha is that she has a hidden talent: being able to twirl fire!
When asked about who inspires her, Samantha said that her mom is her biggest inspiration. “She worked really hard to ensure that I had everything I needed growing up and is always there to support me.”
